"The Art Of Being Yourself"

The Way to a Wonderful Life Message for January 8, 2017
For those of you who have been following this ministry and this teaching and healing philosophy for the past 17 years I know that you have become aware of the necessity to condition our mind on a daily basis.  The Master Mind Jesus taught that we are to "be in the world but not of the world" and for us this means that we must disconnect from the noise and nonsense of the world and let our mind rest in the blessed assurance that the Spirit of G-d and the Good is always available to us; "the kingdom of heaven is at hand" and we connect with that which feels more heavenly in our mind first before our good is made manifest in our experiences.

Whenever we take the time to be still and contemplate the thoughts that we hold in our mind about anything that concerns us we create images in our mind.  The nature of these images creates a likeness in our thought atmosphere.  This thought atmosphere is what is sensed by everyone we come into contact with as well as the almost automatic reaction we have to those things that we are confronted with in our life experiences.  When we react with either love or indifference or with faith or fear, we are experiencing the force of this thought atmosphere.

A few years ago I counseled someone who was experiencing an issue in the workplace.  An employee that occupied the desk near him used perfume that created for him a strong allergic reaction.  He stated to me that he had never had any allergy issues before but that this situation was making it almost impossible for him to function effectively in his work.  He was concerned that if he spoke to the person about this he would be perceived to be a complainer or perhaps even appear weak.  Knowing that everything that comes to us is always more than it appears to be I asked him what his feelings were about the work he was doing and the people he worked with.  He told me in all sincerity that he disliked his work as he felt he should be doing something far more important with his life.  And he told me that he felt that the people he worked with were unprofessional and lacked the education level that he had achieved.  In other words, the perceived allergy to the perfume was an "effect" of his feelings about both the job he was doing and his co-workers.  The allergy was the avenue in which the Spirit of G-d was making him aware that a change in mind was necessary.  As we worked in counseling to create in him a greater respect for his co-workers and a greater understanding of why he was in the job he was in, the allergy ceased to exist.  This conditioning of his mind, a renewing, not only solved this issue but it opened his mind to become aware of a promotion in the company that gave him an opportunity to do work that he was enthusiastic about.

For some people it is not easy to realize that the conditions in their lives that they perceive to be outside of their control, was created first in their mind.  In order to avoid being confronted with that which we have in the past allowed ourselves to believe and perceive, we must be willing to take the action in mind to "displace" the old thought and belief with the new and this begins with not only the thoughts that we think but includes the words that we use in our everyday conversations.  Our thoughts are so perfectly aligned with our words and actions that we do not discern always the relationship between cause and effect.  Many people see no connection at all as they are so concerned with effects (material/physical) that they have no consciousness of mental/spiritual causes.

There is great value in these words from the progressive minister Dr. Norman Vincent Peale beginning with a quote from the ancient wisdom (slightly modified):
I sought the Lord, and Spirit heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. (Psalm 34:4) ... A cure for fear that will absolutely work is to get close to the Spirit of G-d in your thoughts. Spirit is t
he only certain unchanging factor in the world.  The Spirit of G-d will never let you down nor forget youIf plagued by fear, do what this text says:  "Seek the Lord."  That may be done by spending 15 minutes every day just thinking about the Spirit of G-d.  You can split this up into five minute periods, but never let a day pass without spending 15 minutes thinking about Spirit.  Each day, make the following statement, "I surrender myself and all my problems, my loved ones, my future into the hands of G-d Intelligence, and I trust in the Spirit."  Three times every day, thank G-d for all Spirit's goodness.  Soon your life will be filled with G-d/Good, and emptied of apprehensions."

We all have the ability to condition our mind to receive the good that we desire to experience.  G-d is forever available to us as Power, Intelligence and Spirit ... the spirit of strength, persistence and conviction can condition our mind to achieve marvelous and wonderful things.   "I sought the Lord, and Spirit heard me, and delivered me from all my fears." (Psalm 34:4)

And so it is!
