"The Bible does say, 'Those that wait on the Lord shall inherit the earth: (Psalms 37:9).  But this is another one of those cases where a dubious translation has led to confusion.  To wait on the Lord doesn't mean sitting on your hands, a kind of procrastination.  The Hebrew word from which we get the word wait is qavah, which literally means "to bind together."  Thus, to wait on the Lord means to integrate yourself with the power and potential of your spiritual nature, to get yourself plugged in, tuned in, and turned on. ... The waiting is not a matter of time, but of consciousness.  We have the cliché, "in God's good time."  So then, if we wait a long time and nothing happens, we have erroneously thought, "I guess God is saying 'No!' ... or 'Not yet ...'"  What we need is to get our mind to stay on God, to get and keep plugged in, to become a channel for the creative flow. ... Prayer is often limited by the complex of "these things take time."  However, it is not the conditions that are limited by time, but your attitude toward them.  The problem will continue as long as you hope it will be healed "one of these days."  And it will always remain one of these days ... until you change your thought and realize that "now is the time."  This is the moment.  I accept it.  "Yes!" - Eric Butterworth, The Universe is Calling

I have often heard that if something is right for us, it will come to us with grace and ease.  If we suffer conflicts or obstructions then it is not ours and we should put our energies and prayers toward something else.  But, I have learned that this is not the case at all and as we elevate our understanding of our relationship to G-d, Intelligence, then we shall realize why.  I believe and have experienced that when we face obstructions, or confusion, or frustration, it is because we are not identifying with the Presence of G-d.  In other words, we see obstructions and feel frustration because we are attempting to do that which is not ours to do.  So often our obstructions and frustrations are the result of our trying to make something happen rather than depending on G-d Intelligence to guide us and direct us towards that which we desire to experience.

Far too many people fail to realize that we must practice the presence of G-d ... that we must not let ourselves lose sight of the truth that G-d is Omnipresent and must be recognized and identified as both the desired good and the good itself.  When we identify G-d as All-in-All, then we loose the frustration and the seeming obstructions from our mind.  I believe it will benefit everyone to realize as the Master Mind Jesus did that "I of mine own self can do nothing, it is the Father that doeth the work" ... and in this Jesus is telling us that without the recognition of G-d, we forget that the Law of G-d is immutable, changeless, intelligence and all powerful.  And in our forgetting, we fail to get that which we desire to have, to do or to be.  Practicing the Presence of G-d is not some airy-fairy passive practice, but a dynamic and vitalizing energy that is revealed to us and opens our mind to things not previously known or understood.

I would like to remind each of us of this great wisdom found in Ecclesiastes 11:5 ...  "As thou knowest not what is the way of the wind, nor how the bones do grow in the womb of her that is with child; even so thou knowest not the work of God who doeth all."  And this is why we must consciously and purposefully give our attention to the Presence of the Power, Intelligence and Spirit of G-d, daily and often ... because we don't know.  Even the mind of a genius can never know the intelligence that is so infinite and far-reaching as that of the Almighty.  And this is not a religious statement, but a statement of the reality that we all must face and be willing to surrender our knowing to the All-Knowing of Spirit.  And we can illustrate this by a simple contemplation of why we are attracted to certain things and not to others; i.e. foods, clothes, colors, etc.  We may be able to point to "surface" things, but for the most part we don't really know. And so our "knowing" must be revealed to us from the Spirit in that which we must know in order to realize our heart's desires.

And so we get to the point that we must sharpen our vision … to make our intentions and prayers as definite and specific as possible  and yet not allow ourselves to think about how it is going to happen, or from where it is to come.  Our sharpened vision must be one that is focused on the results and the results alone.  It is not our work to make the way possible except through our consciousness … to allow the all-knowing Intelligence of Spirit to impel us and compel us to do our part, but, as the great Emerson stated, “get our bloated nothingness out of the way.”  We don’t know how to draw to us something that we have as yet to experience, but that which we call G-d knows and it is all done through an immutable and absolutely dependable Law.  Very few of us would ever attempt to question that the law of gravity works for everyone or that the laws of mathematics are the same for all people, yet too many of us continue to believe that G-d “favors” some and not others … that spiritual laws work for those we consider to be “spiritual” and not others … and all of this is just the “bloated nothingness” that Emerson was referring to … the nonsense of the world beliefs that have come into our mind based on false evidence appearing real.

The wise Eric Butterworth tells us, “Get the feeling that every difficulty that seems to disrupt the consciousness achieved by your prayer is like a bell ringing to remind you to “reaffirm” who and what you are, to remember the truth that “If you want to you can, because you couldn’t want to if you couldn’t.  Your desire is proof positive of your ability.”  Realize this … and keep on.  Your power to see a goal at all is also the power to see it through to achievement.  Believe this, and act as if you believed it.”

Keep the faith!
