"Remember: What you
desire with all your heart, with all your mind, with all your soul, you
will become - if you believe it and commit your thoughts and energies to
its attainment. If you are not becoming it, then there must be
something within you that does not want it as much as you think you do,
or maybe you want it, but negate the manifestation by believing that it
is impossible for you to attain."
Frank Richelieu, "The Art Of Being Yourself"
As we realize that All is
Mind and All is Law, we can know that what we believe about love and
romance creates our experience of love and romance. Since
Valentine's Day is this week, now is a good time to think about our
ideas of love and romance. And also to think about how we can
increase the love and romance in the relationships that we currently
have ... or how to "define" in our mind the type of
relationship that we seek.
Many of the great metaphysicians have taught that
whatever we seek in another we must embody within ourselves. In
other words, unless we are understanding, supportive and affectionate
... don't expect to attract someone who is. In the physical, it
sometimes appears that "opposites attract" ... but this really
is a false idea. Each of us attract people to us that match our
beliefs, but this is not always apparent in the physical. However,
if we honestly examine what we believe about the issues of love and
romance, we will see that we are getting exactly what we believe ... or
at least, almost exactly, since our beliefs can change over time,
It is important for each of us to realize that we can
attract to ourselves the relationship that we desire ... and some of us
already have. And we can also bring a new vitality to the
relationships that we are in. And we can do this by using the
Mental Power within us by dwelling on that which we want and definitely
accepting it. We don't get what we want, but what we accept as
true for us. This is important to remember, especially in regards
In his book, "How To Change Your
Life," Dr. Holmes wrote: "The whole teaching of the
Bible may be simmered down to this simple statement, presented to each
one of us individually as though a Divine Hand delivered it unto our
individual keeping: "You are one with the creative Spirit of
the universe." There is a universal, divine Spirit which will
inspire, guide, direct and companion you, but there is also a universal
Law of Cause and Effect which sees to it that every act, every thought,
every motive, must be accounted for."
Being one with the creative Spirit of the universe,
we know that we have created our relationships. And we also know
that if we don't enjoy and love what we have created, we can create
something new ... as long as we mentally leave the past behind. If
we wonder what our relationships will be like, all we must do is examine
our thoughts. Our thoughts are our prayers and so we must learn to
control our thoughts and think only of what we want, not what we don't
want. The only moment that really matters is the present moment.
As we change our present thought and keep it changed, we can live to the
ideals that we have defined for ourselves.
Let's take time this week to consciously think
about what we want to experience. And let us realize that as we
find more joy within ourselves by thinking of things that make us feel
joy, this joy will attract people to us that will share our joy and
perhaps even increase it. Let us begin to see a greater joy being
expressed in our lives from within ourselves. And let us remind
ourselves every day that we are one with the creative Spirit of the
universe, and know that we have what it takes to make our lives and our
relationships satisfying and happy.
week, let us take the time to consciously pray from a spirit of joy, for
the loving and satisfying relationship we seek, or an increased joy in
our current relationship. Let us approach G-d, Infinite Spirit, in
the joy of knowing that our power to choose, gives us the freedom to
experience all the best we can imagine in our relationships ... whether
it is a Valentine's Day date or a life time with our soul mate.
SO IT IS!
