                                                          Song of Solomon 4
1 Behold, you are beautiful, my love, behold, you are beautiful! Your eyes are doves behind your veil. Your hair is like a flock of goats, moving down the slopes of Gilead. 2 Your teeth are like a flock of shorn ewes that have come up from the washing, all of which bear twins, and not one among them is bereaved. 3 Your lips are like a scarlet thread, and your mouth is lovely. Your cheeks are like halves of a pomegranate behind your veil. 4 Your neck is like the tower of David, built for an arsenal, whereon hang a thousand bucklers, all of them shields of warriors. 5 Your two breasts are like two fawns, twins of a gazelle, that feed among the lilies. 6 Until the day breathes and the shadows flee, I will hie me to the mountain of myrrh and the hill of frankincense. 7 You are all fair, my love; there is no flaw in you. 8 Come with me from Lebanon, my bride; come with me from Lebanon. Depart from the peak of Ama'na, from the peak of Senir and Hermon, from the dens of lions, from the mountains of leopards. 9 You have ravished my heart, my sister, my bride, you have ravished my heart with a glance of your eyes, with one jewel of your necklace. 10 How sweet is your love, my sister, my bride! how much better is your love than wine, and the fragrance of your oils than any spice! 11 Your lips distil nectar, my bride; honey and milk are under your tongue; the scent of your garments is like the scent of Lebanon.

The words above are from the Holy Bible, King James Version, the Book Of Solomon.  These are words of great love and passion ... words that most of us have never felt in our lives.  Oh, yes, we talk about love and most of us have experienced love in some measure .... but how many of us have "loosed" the passion within us to the degree that Solomon speaks of?  Far too many of us are too timid and afraid to "let love use us" in such a dramatic way ... these are words that can explode from our hearts just as they did Solomon's.

I was greatly blessed to have Rev. Dr. Juanita Bryant-Dunn as one of my ministerial teachers.  She used the statement, "what one man can do ... every man can do."  Of course, she meant the same for women.  This is the Truth as the Infinite moves through us impersonally ... as we allow Love, Joy and Happiness to fill our hearts and minds.  What does it take to get to this level of expressing the Love within us?  It takes the courage to let go of our fears and our prudish-ness ... the courage to speak from the passion of our hearts rather than in the language that is acceptable ... the language that is acceptable dulls our passion rather than enhancing it.

Too much of our language and concepts of love are based on our culture and the traditions of the past.  Too many of us are embarrassed about expressing our passionate thoughts.  The words of Solomon are bold ... if these words were not in the Bible ... many traditional ministers and fundamentalist groups and organizations would probably protest them or try and get them banned from public view.  If these words were used in a television commercial One-Million-Moms and One-Million-Dads would boycott the advertiser ... this is the level of prudish-ness that exists in our culture that has stifled us ... and our mystical passion .... our Divine desires of the Heart.

As we approach Valentine's Day, I suggest that we forget buying Hallmark cards ... and write our own words of love and passion to those we love...... release our imprisoned splendor in words of love, passion and desire ... don't be shy about it ... Solomon wasn't ... there's a whole lot of love in your heart ... release it .... give it out to someone ... anyone .... and it will return to you!

 And So It Is!
Letting Love Use Me In Its Own Good Way,
