The Science of Mind
As
we begin to greater understand our relationship to the Infinite, our
awareness of Life begins a process of evolution. We realize that
we are always supported, in our Good, by a Power and a Presence that is
always with us. The recognition that this is so, flows into our
mind as we affirm that this is so. It is as simple as that.
And this simple action of mind, is an act of faith. And as faith
is sustained in our mind, we actualize it in our experiences. In
scripture we can read, "faith is the substance of things hoped
for" ... in other words, faith is the attracting energy that opens
our mind to the "affirmative" ... the "yes, I can"
... and takes us out of the realm of doubts and worry.
As Dr. Holmes explains in the Science of
Mind ... it is because of this "simplicity" that so many do
not realize Its Presence and Power. Too many of us are looking for
something "magical" or "dramatic" ... and this is
not the way of Spirit. Spirit functions through the Law of Mind
that we establish in our own consciousness. It operates perfectly
and precisely to reflect back to us the thoughts that create and
establish our state of mind concerning all things. If we have a
suspicious mind ... we will find lots to be suspicious of. If we
are entertaining self-pity ... we will find even more misery to
entertain in our thoughts. If we are confident that Life is for us
... we will find evidence to support this confidence. That which I
am seeking is seeking me ... this is the Truth in all things.
God, Infinite Spirit, is not confined to
a heaven or a hell ... It can present us with either as our thoughts
give way to them. It is not waiting for the Second Coming of Jesus
... or for a Messiah ... to bring us peace and the fulfillment of our
Good desires ... It works through the mind of the human race to be and
to do that which the race chooses to be and to be done. We do not
experience "as on earth, as in heaven" because we continue to
defile God by defiling each other. And the greatest examples of
this come from religion and politics. A glaring example of this is
a recent speech given by Ann Coulter to the Conservative Political
Action Conference ... click
here for NY Times article ... in which she slandered one of the
Democratic presidential candidates. And of course there was
criticism after her speech ... but the people who organized this
conference were aware of her speaking "style" before she was
invited to speak ... and each GOP presidential candidate speaking at the
conference knew she would be speaking as well. Were her statements
from her individual consciousness ... or were they from the collective
consciousness of those attending the conference? In the Science of
Mind we know that "like attracts like" ... Ann Coulter was
just the "mouth-piece" for
the consciousness of the
conference attendees. In other words, she gave them what they came
for.
There is much in the world that must be
reconciled back to God. Individually and collectively there is a
vastness in our thinking and our ideas that separate us from God.
The "heaven on earth" already exists ... all that is needed is
the consciousness that realizes that this is so. Let's not wait
for religion or politicians to find their way. Let us take an
individual stand for Love, for Life, for Truth ... and for God.
Our spiritual evolution takes us back to the mystics ... rather than
evolve according to physical laws ... we must evolve our thinking back
to ancient wisdom ... "I am the first and I am the last, And there
is no God besides Me." (Isaiah 44:6)
