is defined as "sound and prudent judgment based on a simple
perception of the situation or facts." And in this simple
definition we find validation for so much of the world's problems.
For this "simple perception of the situation or facts" keeps
us fastened to the appearance of things, rather than the truth of
things. And by and large so many of us claim to have
"commonsense" and we are generally glad that we do. But,
perhaps we shouldn't be so glad. For our commonsense, for so many
of us, has shackled us to knowledge based situations and facts. If
our faith is in situations and facts, then we are misdirecting our
faith. A simple statement clarifies what I am attempting to
explain: "facts change the truth does not." In
other words, facts and situations can distort the truth in our mind and
this distortion of truth can diminish our faith and our confidence, of
which both are absolutely necessary for us to go beyond both situations
and facts that validate what we no longer want or desire.|
is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in
truth" ... "And why are you worried about clothing? Observe
how the lilies of the field grow; they do not toil nor do they spin, yet
I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of
these." - The Master Mind Jesus, from the Gospels of John
4:24 and Matthew 6:28-29
The Master Mind
Jesus' words are so filled with simplicity and what can be understood as
a "childlike faith" in the givingness, forgivingness and
lovingness of G-d. He tells us to "observe" how
the lilies of the field grow ... they grow intelligently, not from
"commonsense" but from the Divine-Intelligence that permeates
all things in the universe. And Jesus further explains, "they
do not toil nor do they spin" ... in other words, the Intelligence
that created them is depended upon to sustain them and maintain them in
their rightful place in the universe. But, we of the human species
have created so many inventions and separations from this Intelligence
that we suffer immense mental and emotional pain; depressions, anger,
fear, worry, guilt, shame and remorse, etc. We have made
God-complicated because we have relied on religion and those who foster
and perpetuate religious dogma to complicate not only our mind and
heart, but our very soul as well.
great teachers: Krishna, Buddha, Moses, Isaiah and Jesus, informed
us of the simplicity of our relationship with G-d. Moses gave the
Ten Commandments to the people who were little more than primitive.
Isaiah informed us that G-d IS All-in-All. Jesus took the Ten and
broke it down to an even greater form of simplicity, "love your
neighbor as yourself," echoing the words of Krishna and the Buddha.
This was human evolution ... the evolution of man's soul. But,
religion continues to foster and perpetuate religious dogma that
separates us from both G-d and man, even denying man's Soul-Evolution.
Far too many religious sects continue to perpetuate hypocrisy rather
than the truth, demonizing all those who do not believe in their
man-made god of punishment and reward ... there is no G-d that fosters
religious dogma ... that is the work of man's ego-mind. G-d Is
Consciousness ... and G-d Consciousness is man's liberty giving birth to
man's inherent volition ... the freedom to choose and to live according
to our choices. God-complicated people do not feel this inherent
freedom to express life fully, receptive to the guidance of the Spirit
that is not dependent on conditions or circumstances, seeming facts,
that can distract us from believing that we can realize so much more in
are no new truths. Please believe me, in my entire experience I
have never found a truth that I have not seen stated in ancient
scripture. I have never known a truth that cannot be found in
ancient philosophy. I have not yet come across anything that is
new in any of the metaphysical teachings. Everything that is,
always has been; and everything that is now, always will be. It is
always available, but it touches consciousness - it comes into
consciousness at some particular time - and then it spreads. It is
now spreading through the world. Those who are unable to grasp it
with the inner fiber of their consciousness will not understand it.
It is not sensible to the human mind; but nothing spiritual ever is.
If that which is spiritual and true were sensible to the human mind,
every sensible person would have an understanding of spiritual truth,
but we know that this is not the case, perhaps because the wisdom of the
spiritual world is foolishness to men. Spiritual truth is found
only in the consciousness of those who have risen above common sense or
mere human intelligence. ... The inspired revelation of spiritual truth
is so practical that in three-quarters of a century, thousands, hundreds
of thousands, have experienced healings of the body
and of the
mind and soul. They have experienced physical, mental, and moral
regeneration. Would you not think, with this Christ visible in the
world today, that the whole world would be followers of the Christ?
But there are very few who follow the Christ, who have learned to lean
on the Infinite Invisible and trust It." - Joel
Goldsmith, The Master Speaks
Our seeking the
"new" oftentimes causes us to forget that which is truth.
Can we ever find anything that is greater than the realization that our
faith in the good is powerful? Or that there is something other
than G-d omnipresent in the universe in which we live? The Master
Mind Jesus instructed us to look to Nature to find a greater realization
of our relationship with G-d, Infinite Spirit. He knew that we
must learn to recognize and identify with this Intelligence, which is
G-d, that permeates everything. In other words, Jesus
was telling us to realize the Source of our power, our spirit and our
intelligence ... and then draw from it, through our faith and our
attentiveness, to realize the abundant and joyful life. This is
G-d as simplicity, not God-Complicated. This is removing from our
mind and heart all separations between us and the Spirit in which we
live and move and have our being, and is seeking to express through us,
as us, for us ... our heart's desires, with grace and ease.
SO IT IS!
