of the most misunderstood teachings of the Master Mind Jesus was his
admonition to "give and be given to."
Religious folks, primarily church leaders, use it as an avenue in
which to get people to tithe to the church or the ministry.
However, this profound statement of universal spiritual law is
diminished by such limited thinking. Giving in the way of
tithes, or membership dues, deepens our faith and conviction of what
is being taught. There is no doubt about this as the evidence is
clear that this is so. This is why most churches, synagogues,
temples and centers have special funds for goods and services that are
required. Even though both these are a part of effects of the
consciousness that has the awareness of this spiritual law, they are
only a small part ... sometimes, a very small part.
To truly understand what
the Master Mind Jesus was telling us we must first realize how the
impulse of giving is activated. And to think it comes from the
heart is correct most often but to think it comes from the nature of
Intelligence that is inherent within us is the truth. We are in
truth the instrument of the "givingness of the Spirit" to
mankind through mankind. This is not only the truth but it is
also intelligent. Few of us can imagine that things can come to
us in any other way.
When we set limitation on our
ability to give then success, prosperity and a sense of accomplishment
soon fade away as well. All that we give of value is in the
great Invisible realm of life; knowledge, skills, talent, creativity,
ideas. Without these things which are of the nature of
Intelligence we would have little to give and
we would receive little in return.
Think on these words from the
great Eric Butterworth: "Think give!
Say to yourself, "I will think give today. I will think give
every day of my life." The law is clear. It promises: Think give,
and you will get. It is a fundamental key to achieving
Instead of thinking
we are going to work or going to a job, put the thought in your mind
that you are going to give of yourself to whatever activity you engage
in. This thought put into practice consistently will not only
bring a greater vitality to mind, body and spirit, but will also lift
our awareness to receive ideas that will increase the value of what it
is that we do.
is how Eric Butterworth explains it: "This
is fundamental spiritual law. When you really know yourself as a
spiritual being, you experience the fulfilling of the law, which
"rushes, streams, and pours into you: in terms of substance and
supply and all that is required for success. When Jesus said: '...
I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly,' (John 10:10)
He was saying that the breakthrough He had made into Infinite Mind
prepared the way for what Emerson called an inlet that may become an
outlet to all there is in God."
Giving is the secret that changes everything. And to
insure that the full force of power comes to your thoughts about
giving, tell no one what you are thinking. Just keep thinking
"give" and let the Spirit, Intelligence and Power of the
Infinite do Its perfect work through you, for you and all those you
come in contact with.
SO IT IS!
