"The image of an impending calamity is no doubt odious, but its very odiousness (we say) makes it haunt the mind all the more pertinacious, and it is useless to expel it.  Yet this is an absurd position for us, the heirs of all the ages, to be in:  Hag-ridden by the flimsy creatures of our own brain.  If a pebble in our boots torment us, we expel it.  We take off the boot and shake it out.  And once the matter is fairly understood, it is just as easy to expel an intruding and obnoxious thought from the mind." - Robert Collier, The Law of Higher Potential

"Nothing external to me has any power over me." - Walt Whitman

It is Spirit that rules the world, and it is when we align ourselves in our thoughts and beliefs that this is the truth, that we loosen the shackles of the seeming powers of the world.  We may find ourselves broke, unemployed, heartbroken, and sick,  but the spirit that dwells within us is not affected by any of these things.  And for the masses of us, this is beyond our comprehension because we have let our minds be conditioned to judge by appearances.  And as we can easily discern from the teachings of the Master Mind Jesus, this "conditioned thinking" has been with us throughout the ages.  This is why Jesus called the people to eliminate from their thinking judgments based on the material or visible alone, as we can read in the Gospel of John:  "Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment."

Unfortunately for far too many of us, we look to people and things outside of us for the "cause" of our problems and challenges in life as well as for our prosperity and the good we want to experience ... and so we give "power" to that which has no power over us except in our false belief that it does.  All that we can see, hear, feel, taste and touch, is temporary and unreliable as the source of our security.  Many of us look to our jobs as the source of our wealth, but all too often, jobs end and so does the temporary feeling of security.  We may think of our savings and investments as "security" but as we all found out within the past few years, these can shrink rapidly and our sense of security shaken and for some, lost completely.  We weren't born with these false ideas, we learned these from the world in which we live.  Our consciousness is impressed daily with "obnoxious thoughts" that deny the strength, guidance, and intelligence of the spirit within us.

Robert Collier writes in "The Law of the Higher Potential" ... "When I worry, I am not trusting God.  When I trust God, I have nothing to worry about."  And the mystical Ernest Holmes writes, "learning to trust will make you happy" ... trust in the infinite Good because as we do we are trusting in the Spirit, Life and Truth that is the only Presence, Intelligence and Power there is ... there is none other, we can read in the ancient scriptures and this is the ABSOLUTE TRUTH now and forever.

In the Holy Scriptures we can read that Jesus called his "disciples" to go forth and announce that the "kingdom of heaven is at hand" ... and in this instruction we understand this to mean that they were to go forth to "heal, prosper and bless" ...
yet, there was much bias and racial prejudice surrounding this instruction as the scripture reads that Jesus instructed the disciples to not go to the Samaritans and the Gentiles.  Since Jesus was bilingual, speaking both Aramaic and Greek, as did most of his disciples, we can know that this had nothing to do with their ability to communicate with the Samaritans and Gentiles, but everything to do with racial and religious bigotry.  What a contradiction this is to Jesus' instruction to "love thy neighbor as thyself" and to "love one another" and so we realize that "obnoxious" thoughts have been held in the collective consciousness throughout history as the authors of the Gospels wrote from their "understanding" based on "culture" rather than from the profound insight and wisdom of the Truth  that Jesus revealed to the world that "G-d is for All and In All ... and this is true of everyone.  This is why we must glean the Truth from the Holy Scriptures, that is, that which is universal and eternal, and drop those things that are man-made either to forward religion or the seeming-power of those in the world.

Every one of us is of the Spirit.  No one can argue against this intelligently, neither scientists nor theologians.  Yet, it is always up to us to "consciously choose" to "recognize" this as the truth about us and everyone else.  Just as the religious and the political powers in the time of Jesus divided the people based on race and religious-dogma, so we find this same mind-set in our world today.  It is this "obnoxious" thinking that is caused by our unwillingness to understand the truth, that creates so many problems in our world and in our personal life experiences.  G-d does not see our race, our religion, our nationality, our legal status, the language we speak, our gender, or our sexual orientation ... and G-d is not blind ... those who judge others negatively based on these things are the ones who are blind to the truth.

The Master Mind Jesus said, "when you see me, you see the Father."  This "Father" that Jesus was referring to is the Spirit of G-d that dwells within us.  It is Intelligence, Spirit and Power ... It cannot be "divided against Itself" for It to be fully realized and experienced by us.  In other words, if we believe that It dwells within us and not someone else ... we establish a lie in our consciousness that will be revealed as something less than the good that most of us seek to experience.  The radical Jesus said, "you will know the truth and the truth will set you free" ... but we won't realize this freedom as long as we allow the dogma of religion and divisiveness of politics to blind us to the truth.

AND SO IT IS!

Keep the faith!
