"A
good treatment (affirmative prayer) is always filled with the
recognition of the Presence of God, or Good.
This automatically wipes out any picture of undesirable
conditions, for the Spirit of God is a law of elimination and
obliteration to everything unlike Itself!
Even in what we term spiritual things, we are still dealing with
the law of cause and effect, for God is Law.
The more exalted, the more heavenly, the more boundless, the more
God-like or Christ-like the thought is, the more power it will
have." - Dr.
Ernest Holmes, The Science Of Mind
"No
matter what has happened in the past, you can change it now. Fill
your subconscious with life-giving patterns of thought and you will
erase and crowd out everything unlike God."
- Dr. Joseph Murphy, Think Yourself Rich
Whatever we desire to receive from the Great
Un-Seen, we must know what it is and be as specific as possible.
We must direct our thoughts to focus on the specific good that we want
to experience. And we must keep faith with it ... in other words,
we must always claim it as ours no matter what has happened in the past.
We can't change the past, but we can definitely bring into our
experience more of what we want and less of what we don't. Faith
can be cultivated by consistently affirming that we have faith ... and
as Dr. Murphy states, "you will erase and crowd out everything
unlike God" ... or the good that fills your thoughts.
Dr. Holmes states that "God is Law"
... and everything that we see in our world gives evidence to this
Truth. The law of cause and effect is a mental law as well as a
physical law. It is just as spiritual as it is material. It
works the same everywhere and for everyone in the same way. But
the law of cause and effect is not a curse ... it is for our Good ...
and the Master Mind Jesus taught that the "grace of G-d"
relieves us of karmic debt. The great Unity minister, Eric
Butterworth stated: "There is no law of retribution in God.
… God never stops loving us, but we stop loving ourselves. … No
matter what the causes of the karmic debt, the effects can be dissolved
by ‘knowing the truth,' by raising our consciousness above the level
of sin.”
And so we learn that as we understand that
"G-d is Law" ... we know that the "grace of G-d" is
a more powerful "cause" than anything unlike it. But, in
order to benefit from this "grace" ... we must embody the
Truth that "G-d is Law" that "G-d is All." And
even though I have repeated this over and over again, I am going to
repeat it one more time. We must "be still and know that I Am
G-d" ... we must do it. It is the most important thing that
we shall ever do ... and we must do it every day. We must open our
mind to the Infinite ... and we can only do this effectively in the
silence of our mind.
Recently, I was talking with someone who I have
been communicating with for quite some time. Her life was in
shambles ... again. Debt, unpaid taxes, ill health, anxiety, and
more, were consuming her life and her thoughts. And these were
conditions that she has been experiencing for years ... just the
appearances have been different. But, I have been
"suggesting" to her that she include a daily practice of
sitting in the silence and thinking only of G-d and Good. And as
she has done numerous times in the past, she immediately gave me a list
of reasons why she couldn't do this. There were just too many
distractions. And so I asked her, "do you brush your teeth
every day?" ... and she replied and said she did. And then, I
asked her, "why do you brush your teeth every day?" And
she replied, "because it is important." And I said,
"so what you are telling me, is that brushing your teeth is more
important than your relationship with G-d." Which she
immediately denied. Now, this little exercise wasn't about making
anyone wrong, but about explaining that what we often see as important,
are merely "effects" ... not "cause." And I
further explained that sitting in the "silence of our mind"
does not require any more time than brushing our teeth. But, we
won't do it ... as long as we believe that it is unimportant.
"The Spirit of God hath made me, And the
breath of the Almighty giveth me life."
- Job 33:4, The Holy Bible
This "life" is in the Spirit and we
cannot experience the "grace of G-d" unless we open our mind
to G-d in the silence. And as Dr. Holmes reveals, " ... the Spirit
of God is a law of elimination and obliteration to everything unlike
Itself." In other words, G-d is enough. Do we want to
eliminate illness in our lives ... G-d is enough to eliminate it.
Do we want to rise above lack and limitation .. G-d is enough to lift us
out of it. G-d is enough ... but we must be in tune with the
Spirit of G-d consistently ... in the silence ... and in our thoughts as
we are specific about what we want to experience; to do, to have, or to
be.
AND
SO IT IS!
Keep
the faith!
