I had a long talk with a very successful and immensely wealthy man
named Peter L. He told me that the secret of his health, wealth,
and outstanding achievement was in developing what he called the
He took a card from
his pocket on which the following great truths were inscribed:
The superior man is always quiet and calm (Confucius). In
quietness and in confidence shall be your strength (Isaiah
30:15). He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and
he that ruleth his spirit than be that taketh a city (Proverbs
16:32). The Lord thy God shall bless thee in all thine increase,
and in all the works of thine hands, therefore thou shalt surely
rejoice (Deuteronomy 16:15). Except the Lord build the house,
they labor in vain that build it (Psalm 127:13).
All these statements point
out that your strength, success, power, and riches come from serenity,
from the inner peace of quietness, and from confidence in the laws of
life and the response of your subconscious mind." -
Dr. Joseph Murphy, Think Yourself Rich
Murphy writes that t his man anchored his mind on these truths as they
represent the eternal truths of G-d and the Law of G-d. As he
meditated on these truths regularly, systematically, and
repetitiously, he was activating the latent power within his
subliminal depths (soul), compelling him to move ever onward and
upward into an ever expanding level of success and wealth.
We all have this "latent
power" within us and these Laws of G-d are universal Laws that we
all can use. It is the quiet mind, the "be still and
know" state of mind, that activates the power of these words
through us. If we find ourselves struggling financially we must
be objective with ourselves and completely detach ourselves in mind
from our old way of thinking. We must be willing to
"recreate" who we are in both our mind and our heart.
As we take the truth into our mind that the Presence of G-d, that is,
Intelligence, Power and Spirit are as available to us and present with
us as the air that we breathe we can begin to elevate our thoughts
about who we are and what we are all about. Can we begin to
claim G-d as our supply meeting all our financial needs now ... not
next week, next month or next year ... but now?
Dr. Frank Richelieu in his
book, "The Art of Being Yourself" writes: "When
you claim your good, you forget your mistakes. When you claim
your good, you forget the injuries and hurts you have received.
You forget the disappointments you have experienced. Why?
Because you cannot really claim your good in this new day and at the
same time be overwhelmed with memories of the past. You can't
look in two directions at the same time. You carry over into
this new day only those things that are going to be an asset to you in
this new beginning."
Our mind can work seeming
magic in our lives if we just take the time to really become aware of
all that we already know, all that we already can conceive of for
ourselves and all that we hope for at the depths of our soul. No
one can disturb our mind but our self. It is the thoughts that
we dwell on of a negative nature that builds within our mind feelings
of desperation and hopelessness. It is also the thoughts that we
dwell on that draw from the strength of our soul the faith and the
persistence to achieve that which we can conceive of as true for
ourselves. We can think the thoughts that dissolve every
negative thought or memory that is contained in the depths of our mind
... but we must choose to do so ... and choose to do so every day.
Think on these words and then expand on
them in your mind to make them personal to you: I
have no fear of limitation because it can never be anything but a
thought. Since I control what I think, I cannot be in bondage to
any thought. The Intelligence within me which chooses the idea
that comes to my awareness, is the same power of Intelligence that
releases it as a completed demonstration in my life. The Spirit
of Life Itself expresses abundance through me at all times.
SO IT IS!
