The Way to a Wonderful Life Message for June 26, 2016

"God is consciousness ... not a creator.  God is the source of creation itself.  It (not he or she) IT is not independent of you.  It is the totality of everything.  So when I call myself God I am not talking about my personal self.  I am talking about the expression of the God self that rests inside of me.  The verb ... the ENERGY ... not the noun.  Once you think God is a noun, person, place, or thing, you separate yourself from It and immediately become a limited being.  That's what separates the believers (religious) from the knowers (spiritual). - I do not know the name of the author of the statement above but it does speak to what I believe to a great deal.  I prefer the word Intelligence to Energy but the meaning is the same.  And I believe this is what the prophet Isaiah was referring to when he said in a state of exalted enlightenment, "I, even I, am the LORD, and apart from me there is no savior." (Isaiah 43:11)  And this is what the Master Mind Jesus was telling us when he said, "Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you." (Luke 17:21)  Neither Isaiah or Jesus was taught this by someone else.  It came to them from the only Intelligence there is.  It was their willingness to think beyond human awareness that allowed these profound truths to surface in their minds.

The true teachings, that is the profound truths, of Jesus, of Buddha, of Krishna and other great prophets and mystics have had such little influence on the world in which we live.  We have Christians, Buddhists and Hindus who follow these religions with little knowledge of the life and profound meaning of the teachings of the one whose wisdom their religions are based on.  The false concepts and beliefs attributed to these religions have been perpetuated by religious dogma and the theologians who act as parrots preaching what has been handed to them without question.  Those who question are soon shut out of the very churches and temples that once accepted and revered them.  There is little room in most churches and temples for the enlightened mind that has realized the falsities that have been considered sacred for centuries.

How we have accepted and believed in religious dogma has come to us through well-intentioned people or people who want to convince other people to think like them because they believe that their way is "the only way."   This came to me recently when my godson's school held their graduation ceremony in an Episcopal Church.  My godson and I walked past a statue of Jesus on a wall with his arms outstretched as if he were on a cross and I asked my godson who he was.  He said "it's God".  And so I knew this is what someone had told him.  So at age four  his mind was being given his first false idea regarding G-d and Jesus.  I didn't waste any time in correcting this false idea for him and told him that G-d was the life within Jesus just as G-d is the life within him and everyone but that G-d cannot be limited to a person, place or thing for G-d is greater than anything we can imagine.

I believe that it is this "separation" from G-d that has separated us from each other although concepts such as race, religion and nationality and other worldly labels have been used to cause us to believe in this separation.  In reality the very things that the world has used to see us as separate are the very things that should give us a greater realization of the infinite individualizations of G-d made manifest.  Our differences are a natural expression of the Intelligence back of all creation and only in the mind of mankind has these taken on the falseness of superior and inferior.  Just imagine how very drab the world would be if we were all the same color, spoke the same language, or had the same thoughts about everything?  Yet, there are churches and temples and mosques where this very thing is strived for.  It is as tribal as the primitives whose awareness of the world was limited to the small space on the planet that they were familiar with.

Recently in one of the largest Christian churches in the Coachella Valley the pastor of the church resigned because the elders of the church rejected his newly realized enlightened view of gay and lesbian people and same-sex marriage.  In other words, he was told that he was no longer a part of "the Tribe" and therefore could no longer lead the congregation.  This is an all too familiar action taken by churches throughout history.  Even though the Christian theology is based on the "evolved teachings of Jesus" and is an "evolved" religion from its beginnings; the first Christians were called Jewish-Christians and only Jews could be part of this new Tribe, most fundamentalist churches have never let this sway them from holding fast to their primitive beliefs.

The things that mankind has defined as that which separates us has always and always will keep us separated from G-d.  The Master Mind Jesus wasn't being Pollyannaish when he stated we are to "love thy neighbor as thyself" for it is a Principle of Intelligence that has consequences.  And even more important is his statement that "Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen."  In this statement the Master Mind Jesus takes us into the realm of the Highest Truth that the human mind can conceive but one that those who seek to belong to a Tribe; also known as a church, a center, a synagogue, a mosque or a temple will struggle to realize.

Keep the faith!
