The Way to a Wonderful Life Message for August 21, 2016

From the Holy Bible and the Torah, Psalm 51:10 "Create in me a clean heart, O G-d, and renew a right spirit within me.” - This is a profound spiritual statement and we shall be wise to understand what the Psalmist is guiding us to do for there are two directives in this statement; to realize a clean heart and to renew a right spirit.  And we find something similar in the teaching of the Master Mind Jesus when he stated "let not your heart be troubled" ... in other words both are directing us to release the trouble in our heart; that is those things that trouble us and cause us to feel depressed or helpless or the feeling of despair.  Let these things go for they shall block us from experience the right spirit within; the spirit that feels confident, joyful and motivated to think only towards the good and the greater things we desire to experience.

The American Mystic Ernest Holmes in his book "This Thing Called You" gives us guidance that will cause us to realize a clean heart and a renewed spirit.  He writes:
"Words are molds into which the creative substance of your consciousness flows.  Words without meaning, while they may have some effect through constant repetition, cannot have the same effect that words with meaning have.  Your words will have meaning in such degree as you actually feel that they are the activity of the Spirit within you."

What one can do all can do is the Law of the Universe and although the Master Mind Jesus taught that
"these things I do and greater things still shall you do" few people accept this as the truth for themselves.  We all have that greater thing still within us that we can do but we must have confidence that we can.  This confidence has been stifled by the inactivity of our mind.  We look to other people for advice, for guidance, for help with even trivial things.  We get an ache we run to a doctor and we do what he or she tells us to do without question ... at least most people do most of the time.  We suffer needlessly because we don't accept that our words have meaning and the degree in which they do is determined by our faith; not in the words of someone else, but in our own words that have real meaning to us.  "Is it not written in your Law: I have said  ye are gods?" the Master Mind Jesus asked the people.  And I am sure most of those who heard him were wondering what the heaven he was talking about.  And the generations since of those people's children still don't know what he was talking about.  They run to the churches to christen their babies and baptize their children and fear the consequences from their traditional God if they aren't baptized themselves without realizing that physical activities mean nothing, it is consciousness that is everything.  Yes, the world has done well in getting people to act on the things that mankind has taught them will bring them closer to G-d but all the while ignoring that none of these things matter unless our mind be "renewed" ... that is, that we remember that we were first spirit before having this human experience and that we are to be in the world, but not of the world.  Our heaven is at hand ... in our mind which is the avenue in which our spirit is expressed.

I credit these words to Ernest Holmes although the thought behind them are not unique to him:
"The authority for your words is in your works.  The only authority you have for your belief is the authority of what they belief accomplishes.  Jesus would have left no lasting mark on history if he had not proved what he believed.  When he said, "Peace," there was peace.  When he said to the wind and the wave, "Be Still!" the wind and the wave were stilled.  When he told the paralyzed man to get up and walk, the man got up and walked."

And we all are aware of the profound statement of truth that
"faith without works is dead" and no one can deny this.  So all those who declare that they have faith ... put your faith to the test.  Test it and strengthen it.  Speak your word.  Let the Spirit flow through you as personality that is more spirit than person.  You are the personality of G-d Mind, Spirit, Power and Intelligence ... let the Spirit in and It will renew a right spirit within you.

Keep the faith!
