Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen:
that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me
there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. 11
I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour. 12
I have declared, and have saved, and I have shewed, when there was no
strange god among you: therefore ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD,
that I am God. - from the King James Version of
the Bible considered by most Bible scholars to be the most authentic of
the many versions available.
There is great
metaphysical meaning to these passages from the Book of Isaiah.
These words were obviously written from a highly enlightened
giving the world this Highest of Truth, Isaiah is instructing us on the
Law of Mind. Understanding that there is only One Mind, we are
being instructed to eliminate any and all belief in a power separate and
apart from God. As we believe in a power other than God, we create
an illusion of duality in our experience ... it is not real ... but the
power of belief given to an illusion makes it seem real enough that, for
many, the illusion controls them.
understand this in a practical way, we must look at the ways in which we
give power to something other than God. As we understand the ways
in which we do ... then we can make the correction in Mind and begin to
live a more empowered life. The Master Mind Jesus cautioned us to
"be in the world but not of the world." The world
believes that all kinds of people have power over us and in this
believing that they do, we deny the Power of God. How many times
have you heard someone worry that the boss won't give them a raise? ...
or that they may "lose" their job. Actors all over the
world continue to look to casting directors to "give" them
work. People look to doctors to "heal" them. Any
time we look to anyone other than our God-consciousness, to
"give" to us or to "take" from us ... we are looking
to a power apart from God. And in this looking to someone or
something outside of us, we will always be susceptible to worry, doubt
and even fear. Whatever we obtain must come through our
consciousness of knowing that God is the only Power or we set ourselves
up to believe in the possibility of loss.
Isaiah is not just telling us that there is no power other than
God, he is also telling us that as we "serve" God by
eliminating these false gods from our mind, we will begin to
"witness" the Power of God in our lives. The Power of
God can only work through us ... and It cannot work through a mind that
is troubled with duality. The belief in God and something else is
the cause of all the struggle and strife in the world. "...
and beside me there is no savior" ... we cannot be a
"witness" to the Power of God in our lives if we are seeking
to please some "savior" ... whether it be Buddha, Krishna,
Mohammed or Jesus ... or some other deity that the "world" has
created. Note the first statement from Isaiah 43:10 ... "ye
are my witnesses" ... it does not state that Buddha, Krishna,
Mohammed or Jesus is going to "witness" for us ... or act as
our mediators with God. The statement, "ye are my
witnesses" is repeated in Isaiah 43:12 ... in other words, Isaiah
was clearly trying to impress upon us the importance of these words.
will lead us from these powerful passages. It teaches that we must
live up to man-made rules and laws ... but God was not made for man ...
man was made for God! ... "you are my servant whom I have
chosen" ... this could not be more clear. We are not here to
serve man. Now, many in contemporary society have moved from the
"traditional saviors" i.e. Buddha, Krishna, Mohammed, Jesus
... and have turned to the Dalai Lama, Deepak Chopra, Wayne Dyer and
others. All of these are wonderful teachers ... but they are
merely men who are offering their opinions to the world ... they are not
God ... and they would all agree with this statement.
No matter how great our teachers
may be, the time will come for all of us, when we must "meet God
within our very own consciousness" ... and then we begin to
"serve" God by becoming a "witness" to the Power of
God in our personal lives. "Be still and know that I am
God" ... be still ... and become a "witness" to
the Power and the Presence of God.
So It Is!
