The Way to a Wonderful Life, Sunday, November 11, 2012

"A WINNER IS a person who realizes that he or she has activated God or good in some way, or through some means, in his/her life.  An extremely important concept that few realize or believe is that anybody can be a winner, although not everybody is. It is a fact that winning in the overall "game" of life does not require that you first have to be rich, famous, fast, strong, big, tall, of a certain racial background, or of genius intelligence."
"The champion has the mind of a winner.  And the winner's mind is filled with a firm, unshakable belief in good.  A winner leaves no room for doubt.  Doubt to a winner is like what being out of condition is to an athlete - a real handicap. A winner stays in condition by staying with this belief.
"In order to achieve good, one's mind has to be free of any encumbrances:  blocks, barriers, and other "dead-weight".  The only thought allowed to occupy and condition the winner's mind is that good, and only good, is and will continue to be one's constant expectation and experience.  That means that the winner forgets whatever happened that was not good in the past, sets new goals, and moves forward to achieve those goals - that is the winner gets on with his/her life."
-  O. C. Smith, Little Green Apples - God Really Did Make Them!

It is possible for each of us to win the game of Life for it is our nature to expect the best in any situation.  It is the noise and nonsense of the world that has mesmerized us into believing that there is something or someone against us.  Nothing or no one is.  Whatever we feel holds us back from having, doing or being, that which we have diligently contemplated and consciously chosen to experience, we have given power to it.  And we can take it away with the realization that there is a Power Greater than we are that has brought the desire for the something better or greater to our attention and it is in this power of awareness that we can rest confidently and with assurance that we shall receive that which we desire or something better ... no matter what it may be.  Even the Master Mind Jesus realized that this Something Greater, which he called the Father, is a Principle that we can all work with and rely on for everything.

Unfortunately, far too many people have let the man-made-religions cause us to doubt and be uncertain about the teachings of Jesus and all the ancient mystics that revealed to us that we have "what it takes" to win, to succeed, to increase our good and to realize an even greater good than our past experiences may imply.  Our mind, which is greater than the organs in our body, including our brain, can be transformed and renewed in the "twinkling of an eye" as we read in scripture:  1 Corinthians 15:52
"in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed" ... but we must choose to be changed and we must choose to let the spirit within us be raised to new heights of inspiration and confidence and self-realization.

     From O. C. Smith's Little Green Apples:
"My faith is based on an inner conviction, not upon an outer circumstance.  I believe in God.  I believe in myself.  I am guided, guarded, and protected by the Spirit that dwells within me.  Wherever I go, God gets there first.  Each day provides me with an opportunity to take charge of my thoughts, my feelings, my actions, and my beliefs.  Knowing this is the day that God has made, I rejoice in it.  Regardless of what happens today, I remain calm because that is a habit I choose to form.  I move through each day with dignity.  I know what to say and how to say it.  I affirm that only good goes from me, and good - and good alone - returns to me.  For this I am grateful.  And so it is."

Let us not discount the ancient scriptures that were written for today, tomorrow and forever.  Let us understand the power in choosing affirmatively:  Psalm 118:24
"This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it" ... yes, be glad that whatever we have experienced that frightened us, tried us, caused us to mourn, caused our poverty, caused our loneliness, caused our tears ... is over ... let us affirm as Job did:  Job 23:10 "But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold" ... and with this same decision established in our mind and our heart, we too shall come forth as gold ... we shall move through whatever it is that we must move through in order to let our gladness of knowing the truth reign Supreme in our life experience.

It is this alignment in our mind and heart of this Higher Creative Power of the Infinite that brings forth the good that we expect to receive as ours.  As Keith Urban states:
"Once we get into the groove, we're kind of like long-distance runners - that adrenalin kicks in for me and I just keep running - and I don't stop. This is the "spirit of gladness" of knowing that we are "in the flow" of Divine Creativity and success ... advancing towards good and more good ... our mind is raised to the level of being a "winner" ... not a doubter or worrier.  We were born to be winners as we have been given all the power and intelligence necessary for us to realize that with G-d all good things are possible for us.

And lastly, from O. C. Smith's Little Green Apples:
"I praise the power of God in me that frees me to experience a greater level of living.  I praise the prospering power of God within me and I welcome my infinite good today.  I open my mental eyes and ears to the magnificence of the universe.  I am blessed and I have an abundance of every good thing.  I share my abundance as I joyously live my life in the expectancy of more good."

Keep the faith!
