"There is no virtue in poverty.  It is a disease of the mind, and you should heal yourself of this mental conflict or malady at once."  - Dr. Joseph Murphy

The Good News that Jesus gave to the world was, "I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly."  What the Master Mind Jesus is telling us is the Truth.  Anytime He made statements from His Highest Thought, He was stating the Truth ... for Himself, and for all of us.  The "I" He is referring to is the Word of God, or Infinite Presence.  This "I" is within each of us and each of us may have life more abundantly when we learn how to "invite" abundance into our experience.

The next most important teaching of Jesus was also His most basic, "look up and not down" ... in other words, look up and away from the physical to the One Mind, which Is God.  Looking at lack or appearances of poverty imprint lack and poverty to our consciousness.  Jesus stated, "I am the Light of the World" ... and this Light is of God and Is God ... Light means "intelligence" ... looking at lack or poverty or speaking words of poverty and lack, only attract to us more of the same.  Are we overwhelmed with our bills ... then we must "look up" into the One Mind and "think into It" the results that we want to see realized in the situation or condition that is not reflecting the abundant life that is ours, now.  And as we look up believing and knowing that the Infinite "I" is within us, we can affirm with confidence and assurance, "I have all the money that I need when I need it beginning right now" ... and as we repeat this statement over and over again we "imprint" it in our consciousness and make it part of our "belief system" ... and as we do we create a pattern of prosperity and abundance that expands and grows to fill our every need.

It is not necessary to be a Christian to practice the teachings of Jesus, after all, He was not a Christian.  His philosophy is almost synonymous with Hinduism ... "God Is One and God Is All."  His teachings were not original to Him, but were in Truth, the wisdom of the ages, changeless, and immutable.

"Whatsoever things ye ask for when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them," said Jesus.

From Wallace D. Wattles:  See the things you want as if they were actually around you all the time; see yourself as owning and using them.  Make use of them in imagination just as you will use them when they are your tangible possessions.  Dwell upon your mental picture until it is clear and distinct, and then take the Mental Attitude of Ownership toward everything in that picture.  Take possession of it, in mind, in the full faith that it is actually yours.  Hold to this mental ownership; do not waiver for an instant in the faith that it is real.

Be as thankful for it all the time as you expect to be when it has taken form.  The person who can sincerely thank God for the things which as yet he owns only in imagination, has real faith.  He/she will get rich; he/she will cause the creation of whatsoever he/she wants.

You do not need to pray repeatedly for things you want; it is not necessary to tell God about it every day.

"Use not vain repetitions as the heathens do;," said Jesus to his pupils, "for your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things before ye ask Him."

Our part is to intelligently formulate our desire for the things which make for a larger life, and to get these desires arranged into a coherent whole; and then to impress this Whole Desire upon the Formless Substance (Mind), which has the power and the will to bring us what we want.

We do not make this impression by repeating strings of words; we make it by holding the vision with unshakable PURPOSE to attain it, and with steadfast FAITH that we do attain it.

The answer to prayer is not according to our faith while we are talking, but according to our faith while we are working.

And So It Is!

Letting Love Use Me In Its Own Good Way,
Rev. Bates
