"Whoso would be a man, must be a nonconformist. He who would gather immortal palms must not be hindered by the name of goodness, but must explore if it be goodness.
Nothing is at last sacred but the integrity of our own mind."
- Emerson

Matthew 11:25 - At that time, Jesus answering said, I praise thee, Father, Lord of the heaven and of the earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them to babes.
The Radical Rabbi, Jesus, is telling us here in this statement that we do not find our peace, our joy, our love, our harmony and our light through the intellect.  We find it through Faith, faith in the Invisible Good.  He told the Pharisees, "you know every letter of the Law, but you have no Love in your hearts."  We find God through Loving Faith, an intuitive sense of the magnificent Power and Presence of Love.
Matthew 21:12 - And
Jesus entered into the temple [of God], and cast out all that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the money-changers and the seats of those that sold the doves.
I am certain that when Emerson gave us the statement, "God does not give his work to cowards," he was inspired by the "spirited" Jesus.  From the Bible we can see that Jesus was always very direct and pulled no punches.  Jesus' faith was vital and active!  Ours must be too.
Mark 9:23 - And
Jesus said to him, The 'if thou couldst' is [if thou couldst] believe: all things are possible to him that believes.
Here the Master Mind, Jesus, is telling us, very simply, "it is done unto you as you believe."  We must believe that we live, move and have our Being as expressions of God, always.  "Be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might."  To be strong in the Lord is to be sure of ourselves, because we are sure of the Principle of Life which manifests Itself through us.
Mark 10:18 - But
Jesus said to him, Why callest thou me good? no one is good but one, [that is] God.
Here the Great Metaphysician, Jesus, is telling us "God Is Good and Good Is God," there is no Good that is not God, including himself.  The Good that we do Is God expressing through us, as us.  All that we see Is the Omnipresence of God, It Is All Good, but we won't see it as Good with our human understanding.
Luke 4:4 - And
Jesus answered unto him saying, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.
Every word of God - every Good word, every word that speaks our highest and greatest thought regarding all things, ourselves and all others, Is the word of God.  This is the basis of Scientific Prayer and the realization that is required to heal, prosper and bless ourselves and all others.
Luke 9:62 - But
Jesus said to him, No one having laid his hand on [the] plough and looking back is fit for the kingdom of God.
his is a very strong statement from the Master Teacher.  The Truth will set us free but once we know the Truth and turn from it, it can poison our lives.  This immutable Universal Principle of Life works in the negative just as powerfully as It does in the positive.  We must pray without ceasing, in other words, do not look back to our old ways and our past experiences or we bring them into our present.  We must rid our minds of any and all things that hinder us from the Truth, from Good.
John 10:34 -
Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?
his is the powerful Jesus' highest revelation for mankind.  We are gods.  God Is expressing All that God Is through each and every one of us at the measure of our acceptance of this Truth.  This Is the Truth that gives us dominion and authority over our earthbound conditions and circumstances.  But we must turn from the ideas of want and need and break the bonds of apparent necessity.  We must begin to feel a continuous Faith of God's Good expressing in our Life.
John 11:35 - Jesus wept.
This statement makes Jesus very identifiable with all of us.  We can all move in consciousness from our human  self to our Divine Self just like Jesus - we can also move in consciousness from our Divine Self back to our human self just like Jesus - and its okay - we can move back in consciousness to our Divine Self in the "twinkling of an eye." We do this by making use of the Power of Choice.
John 12:44 - But
Jesus cried and said, He that believes on me, believes not on me, but on him that sent me.
Here the beloved Jesus tells us, without question, that we are to put our Faith in God, not in him.  God.  In metaphysics we clarify his teaching with the statement, "Depend on Principle not person, place or thing."  Depending on Principle Is depending on God.
John 20:21 -
[Jesus] said therefore again to them, Peace [be] to you: as the Father sent me forth, I also send you.
Like Jesus, we have been given this Life to express God, to allow God to "use" us in Its own Good Way.  We are here to heal, prosper and bless each other as we express God more fully and completely.

God Is Joy!  We must express our Joy!  Jesus did!  His first demonstration was turning water into wine - he could have turned it into grape juice but he knew that a little wine is Good for the soul!  As we enter into the holiday season, enjoy!  Celebrate Hanukah, Celebrate Christmas, Celebrate Kwanzaa - Celebrate every Good Thing!  Jesus would!  Jesus was a Jew with a "Radical New Idea, a philosophy of God As Love" he was not a Christian.  He went beyond all such labels that separate us and taught that we are ONE!    Get over the idea that any of us can be Christian, Jew or otherwise - we are here expressing the Life of God - God Is All there Is - God Is All things - God Is All people - God Is Life!  Thank you Jesus, for giving us the Good News!

And So It Is!

Letting Love use me in Its own Good Way,
Henry Lee Bates
