And, behold, one came and said unto
him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal
life? 17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good?
there is none good but one, that is, God.
statement by the Master Mind Jesus is one of His most radical. It
defies human opinion that we must strive to be considered
"Good" based on the opinions, rules and regulations formulated
by man. There Is only One Good, that Is God. The Good that
we do, Is God expressing through us and as us. We cannot be judged
Good, for no one knows our heart .... except the Indwelling Presence of
God. To strive to be Good, oftentimes manifests as
"self-righteousness" and "piety." We are
incapable of being Good. Because we really don't know what Good
Is. Our human intellect is too limited to comprehend Good .. for
Good Is God and God Is Infinite. God or Good, is changeless, while
human ideas and concepts of Good are forever changing.
Radical Jesus, during His ministry, went from city to city.
Although it is difficult for most of us to understand, He was considered
vile and blasphemous by a great many people of His time. Why?
Because He defied their traditional ideas and concepts of Good and evil.
He consistently broke many of the man-made rules that limited the masses
to a concept of God created in the image of man. A God of reward
and punishment. A God that condemned the so-called sinner and
rewarded those who lived according to man's idea of Good. Jesus
knew that many of those who put on a face of piety in public were
hypocrites in their hearts. And even beyond that, He knew that all
the rituals and traditions that the people followed striving to be Good,
were nonsense. None of these things could possibly make us Good or
soften a wicked heart. Most of the rules and regulations imposed
on the masses were to empower the religious leaders ... by giving them a
form of measurement in which to judge Good or lack of Good in the
individual. Do you observe the Sabbath ... yes, then you are Good
... do you break the Sabbath, then you are not. But ...........
Matthew 12:1 At
that time Jesus went on the Sabbath day through the corn; and his
disciples were a hungered, and began to pluck the ears of corn and to
2 But when the Pharisees saw it, they said
unto him, Behold, thy disciples do that which is not lawful to do upon
the Sabbath day.
Jesus broke the Sabbath ....
He understood that there is no God that desires for us to go hungry, to
suffer, to struggle, to be lonely, broke or sick. He
knew that "sin" was a human concept .... that denies that man
is created in the image and likeness of God ... He
knew that most of the judgments that we face today, and those of the
past, are nonsense and have nothing to do with our Goodness .... which
Is God, Ever-Present Within Us, not our human-ness but our Divinity ...
there is only One Good, God ... from which All Good comes ... as we
cease our striving to be Good .... will will begin to Be Free!
So It Is!
